Downward Facing Dog

Well, I'm doing it again...yoga. Some of you may or may not know that before Kristin was born, I was VERY into yoga and did it at least 4 times a week. Now, I wasn't standing on my head or wrapping my legs around my neck, but I was pretty good. I even did yoga for pregnancy. Then I had Kristin....and it was all downhill from there! I've often said I needed to start back again and have even done some yoga for kids with my class in the morning at school, but nothing consistent or that would qualify as a workout. By the way, nothing is funnier than watching kids doing yoga, especially the "Do Nothing Doll" pose where they lay on their backs, eyes closed and just relax. Many times I've wondered how long they would stay there if I didn't say anything! Anyway, I've also come to the conclusion that heart disease runs in my family and things need to change. SO, four years later, I pulled my yoga mat out of the closet and did some sun salutations. I don't know if you've ever done yoga, but you don't realize how had you work until you roll out of bed the next morning and can barely move. The only thing you can do...more yoga. That was me this morning. But last night I slept better than I have in MONTHS. So, here's to sun salutations and dog poses. I'm back on the yoga mat!!!!

Good Morning!

It's Erin (Bowling). I'm just now getting a chance to check out your blog. Whomever gave you my e-mail address gave you a very old one that I no longer have. You can use niremarie81@hotmail.com.

I love your post about yoga. I, myself, have never really gotten into yoga. I always buy those stupid yoga video tapes and it's very hard to pay attention and learn the next move when you are in downward facing dog. I've thought about taking a class so a professional could teach me at least a few moves, but I don't really have the time.

It's great to see that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and that you will be with your Mom and Lynn and family for the New Year. Jen and I and our significant other and one other couple have rented a cabin up by Broken Bow in OK so we can all party, not have to worry about driving, and all have a nice queen sized bed to sleep in.

I hope ya'll have a great New Year and please tell everyone that I said hi and send my love.

Talk to you soon, Erin

Yoga! WOW! I tried it once and about broke my body in two! Sounds like it works for you. I will stick with running. Glad your holidays went well. We had a great one. We were home for Christmas eve and Christmas morning. That was nice. We had never done that before. It was a nice change. Then we went to my mom and dad's house for a few days. Then we left Anna with my folks to get away for our anniversary. That was great. We have not celebrated our anniversary since we married. It was a nice get away. Good luck with the yoga.
