Local Montessori school earns Arkansas accreditation

Siloam Springs’ Sunshine Montessori, operated by Shawn Lawrence-Reed, has earned Arkansas Quality Approval Accreditation.
The school met the higher child care and early childhood programming standards needed to complete the accreditation as of April 25.
Sunshine Montessori is one of 40 programs in Benton County to receive the designation.
The approval accreditation is a state accreditation for programs that have met standards above those of basic health and safety standards set by child care licensing. The Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education assesses child care programs that have demonstrated quality educational programming in their facilities and recommends approval.
