Do You See A Pattern Here????

Well, I woke up this morning to snow. And it has snowed all day. Luckily it has been warm enough that it hasn't really stuck. There was around an inch this morning, then it melted, then started snowing again. Kristin went out and played for a little while, and the huge flakes really were pretty. Anyway, I was looking back at pictures and found a weather pattern:

January 28....ice storm

February 28...snow

Today, March 28...snow

Hopefully it will be warm weather from here on out!

Home Alone

Yep, I'm home all alone...well, I have the dogs to keep me company. Chris and Kristin and spending the night in Joplin, so I have the house to myself. I've been cleaning, going through K's clothes to see what I can list on eBay (I have to do that when she's not around...otherwise she goes nuts! She triend to squeeze herself into a size 5 dress that she was convinced still fit), I've watched movies, done some reading and now I'm sitting in the complete silence. Wow. Maybe it's a little too quiet...I'm surrounded by noise at work and at home, so maybe this is just too quiet...WRONG!! :)

I'm sure some of you remember me mentioning the Tugwell family (if not, you can read their story by clicking on the Lori link). They have a daughter, Lily, who is K's age, she was adopted from China. They have been in the process of adopting two boys from Haiti for quite awhile and there was a big holdup recently with Silas' (the youngest) adoption going through. The birth mother couldn't be found, then they found out she had died, and the US said they needed something to "prove" his orphan status. Anyway, after months of adoption lawyers, talking to Arkansas officials, they got the call last week....they can got get Silas!!!! So, right now they are in Miami and tomorrow they are going to Haiti!!!!! They have never lost faith through all of this and now they are being rewarded! Silas is almost three and Louis is 11. Louis' adoption seems to be moving faster and they know where his birth mother is, so hopefully that won't be an issue. I'm so happy for them!!!!

Ok, I'm taking a nice hot bath and going to bed!!!!

Pinkalicious

Last Friday afternoon I got a call from the school nurse telling me that Kristin was running a temp, had a headache and cough....the virus that was making the rounds (I only had 4 kids in my class) seemed to have found her. So, I picked her up and let her hang out with me at school while I finished up my last couple of hours. Later that night Kristin was upset that she couldn't go watch the big girls playing softball, so we decided to make cupcakes. Kristin's favorite book, Pinkalicious, is about a little girl who eats so many pink cupcakes that she turns pink. We had a fun night of making pink strawberry cupcakes with pink strawberry icing....and they were "pinkalicious!"

Here is Kristin with her book....as you can see, she was turning pink, but not from cupcakes, but from fever (hence the fever patch).

She continued to run a high temp on Saturday, but was better Sunday. Then Monday afternoon when she got to Sunshine after school, she said she wasn't feeling good. I took her temp--101. So Tuesday we went to the doctor...uppper respiratory infection. So, she's on an antibiotic and is of course getting breathing treatments. She went to school Thursday and Friday and is feeling much better. Next week is parent teacher conference week. I'll be glad when this year is over!

Northwest Arkansas Sunrise

One of the advantages of getting up at the "crack of dawn" is that I actually do get to see "the crack of dawn!" This morning the sunrise was beautiful...this picture was taken around 6:30 and nowhere comes close to all the pink and orange colors in they sky. Kristin went to the back door and said, "God made pink and orange again." Yep, He sure did.

Of course, a few days ago, it was snowing. Luckily we didn't get much. Otherwise school wouldn't be out until July! Tomorrow is supposed to be in the 70's and I'm ready for it to stay that way...I want to plant my garden!

Kristin is back to her good ole self! She has been going outside to play everyday...before her surgery she never went out, I guess she just didn't feel good. She's had no temp and is looking forward to playing softball. We missed registration for soccer so she's playing softball instead. As long as she's doing something to burn off that energy! She'll have fun...I'm the one who will be miserable...I hate softball!
